Diving Mask

A diving mask is one of the first pieces of equipment most divers buy for themselves. While they can be rented from most dive shops, it is generally recommended that a diver owns his/her own mask. If you’re unsure of what to buy, a trip to the dive shop might be necessary.

A diving mask is what allows a diver to monitor his/her surroundings while underwater. It is essential that the mask seals properly to the diver’s face in order to ensure that water does not leak through. However, most scuba training courses will show you how to empty water from your mask, while still underwater.

A diving mask doesn’t have to be expensive. Most novices can purchase an adequate mask for well under fifty dollars. Even the most advanced masks can often be found for less than 100 dollars.
